[Title] Keeper of Endings, ex-Princess, The Seventh Daughter

[Gender] Female

[Race] Human

[Age] Appears early-20s. Actual age is 719.

[Date of Birth] June 3

[Height] 5’5” (gains a few inches when she’s floating)

[Country] Kingdom of Coronis, in Ashvar.

[Job] Keeper

[Skills]
:bulletred: Affinity for wind and light magic. Her main use of her magic is being able to levitate herself as she still feels pain whenever she places any pressure on her legs. This drains magic relatively quickly so she borrows the energy from the sun to allow herself to float instead of her own stores. Although this works rather nicely when the sun is bright, it means that during cloudy days or during nighttime she either doesn’t move or relies on other means to move around. Cerise is also able send/receive messages on the wind and wind scry to see what may be happening in places that may be difficult to travel.

:bulletred: Sewing. One may think that after five years of labouring over creating magical shirts, Cerise would be tired of sewing but in actuality, she seems to have found a love for it. She constantly carries thread and needles in the many pockets that she has hidden in her dress and is able to create clothing in quite a short amount of timoe. Although, thanks to the many years of practice she received making the shirts for her brothers, she is also very proficient at sewing in her magic and weaving in spells or enchantments. She tends to get creative whenever she decides to do so however, so it may be prudent to check whatever she may gift you with.

:bulletred: Gardening. Even before she found a need to look into plants and their magical qualities which enabled her to sew the six shirts for her brothers, she enjoyed raising small flowers and watching them grow. When she grew older however, she found a greater love for these pretty plants and found that she had a talent in feeding certain flowers and seeds small amounts of her magic to let them flourish. She had many years to experiment with this and has not only created many new species of flowers but has her own - rather large - garden located in the Citadel.

[Original Story] The Six Swans from Grimm’s Fairy Tales

[Personality]
Growing up in a family as the only and youngest daughter it is no surprise that Cerise was just a little bit spoiled but even so, she is quite down to earth and very giving. She has a very strong sense of family and even though she is quite a sweetheart to everyone, she still has a distinct barrier and trust level that she makes known. She dislikes physical touch if it isn't of Ikanus and goes out of her way to shied away from others. Additionally, she tends to be rather quiet, though she is anything but shy. This could be because she had become accustomed to not talking during those five years of silence. She finds ways to communicate just as well as anyone else, perhaps even better.

Despite her being willing to do anything for her family, Cerise is no pushover. She isn't afraid of speaking her mind and actually enjoys teasing her friends. She will not, however, tolerate any types violence near her and she cannot stand vulgarities. If someone happens to be performing said actions anywhere close to her, they will oftentimes find themselves unable to speak or bound by what seems to be wind. Cerise knows how to defend herself as well as she can in the moment thanks to her brothers teaching her basic self defense.

Cerise is usually found in the large garden she has grown and nurtured on one of the many floors of the Citadel, surrounded by the various types and colours of flowers. It is one of the places that she can find solitude in when her brother can't be there for her.

[STORY (shortened post)]
Cerise was born into a royal family in the large prosperous kingdom of Coronis. She was the youngest of seven children; six of which were boys. Their parents died only a few years after Cerise’s birth, leaving the kingdom to their eldest son. As Cerise grew older, suitors from all over the land began flooding to the castle, searching for her hand in marriage.

One such suitor was a powerful sorceror who was unhappy at being rejected by the Coronis brothers. He threatened their lives, but they refused to give their sister up into the hands of a man that was rumored to be cruel and wicked to his people.

The sorceror disguised himself as a well-meaning old widow in the town and convinced the manservant of one of the brothers to give them beautifully embroidered blankets stuffed with the feathers of swans. Enchanted, the blankets transformed every brother into a swan in their sleep. Compelled to migrate as real swans upon morning, the brothers flew from the castle in the guises of six beautiful black swans.

No stranger to enchantments, Cerise quickly connected the pieces and realized that an attack had occurred inside the palace. She immediately called their allies to strengthen the palace defenses, which had weakened with the disappearance of her brothers. Then, she locked herself up in the library and began to frantically peruse tomes of magic in hopes of finding a cure to save her brothers. The counterspell she discovered, however, was broad and powerful magic, but would take years of dedication to complete.

It required her to do everything in silence: live and weave by hand six long sleeve shirts with complex spells with a very special flower only she could pick from the depths of the forest. Each shirt would take at least half a year to create without distraction, so it was at least three years of silence she had to dedicate herself to. Any sound she would make before she finished the spell and placed the shirts onto her brother’s bodies meant the loss of her brothers forever. At the tender age of 14, Cerise made a decision that most grown women would have trouble with.

Forced into the palace of the sorcerer that had turned her brothers to swans, Cerise made the best of the situation and hid her counter-spell and the ingredients from the sorcerer as much as possible. The sorceror assumed that she did not speak because she thought her brothers abandoned her to an enemy. But he soon realized that she was doing it for another ulterior motive, although, what that was he did not know. He decided to indulge her, finally happy that he simply had her in his grasp and turned a blind eye her actions.

At night, she would sneak out from the castle and find the flowers she needed for the shirts, hiding them inside a sewing basket and underneath layers and layers of thick fabric. She knew the sorceror would become suspicious if he saw the flowers she was collecting: the powerful aster petals were staples in many spells.

As time went on, the sorcerer then assumed that she was born mute and was perhaps incapable of speaking. He stopped trying to get her to break her silence at this time and instead, tried to convince her to marry him. Every day, Cerise would refuse his proposal and go back to her sewing.

The sorceror grew more and more impatient and began to push more and more obligations on Cerise as well as watch her more closely. Cerise feared for the progress of the shirts and finally indicated to him that she would agree to marry him if only he left her alone and allowed her to take as much time as she needed to prepare for her wedding.

Finally, one day, the sorceror found the piece of an aster petal on the floor next to her gown. Paranoid, he was suddenly very angry and sure that she was enchanting her gown, but with what he was not sure. He scoured the castle for clues, but could not find more than just the petal of aster on the floor. Having a suspicion that Cerise could have been trying to undo the spell of her brothers but without any proof, the sorceror looked up the spell himself and wanted to make sure that Cerise’s silence was real and not a product of a spell in progress, so he hatched a plan to get her to break her silence and make himself her savior in the process.

He announced to Cerise that he was taking a trip out of the country, to her relief. She was looking forward to making good progress on the sixth and last one in relative peace. A few days later, just as she had finished most of the body of the shirt and the left sleeve, a mob of people were heard outside the castle. They were demanding “burn the witch,” after being paid by the sorceror to throw the “woman in his castle that had put him under her spell” into a bonfire. The sorceror then planned to come to her rescue if he heard Cerise scream (thereby breaking the spell she was weaving), or if she continued to remain mute, pluck her from the fire with the assurance that she was born mute.

Cerise was torn from her chambers by the mob, just able to grab her basket full of five complete shirts and one with the arm unfinished. Cerise kept her eyes glued to the sky, praying for her brothers to get her mental calls and come. When the fire reached her legs, the crackling of the flames was interrupted by the beating of six strong wings. As each of the birds swooped down, she was able to throw the shirts over them. She was afraid that because the sixth shirt was incomplete, the spell would not be broken.

As the sixth shirt fell upon the back of her youngest brother, the magic accepted her sacrifice and all of her brothers transformed back to humans-- all but one. Her youngest brother stumbled to the ground beside the rest of his brothers, thrown off balance by the large, powerful black swan wing that took the place of his right arm.

The brothers quickly adapted to the situation and grabbed her from the fire. She was not unharmed-- Cerise was left with serious burns on her legs and even after her brothers healed what they could, there would always be discomfort whenever she tried to use her legs.

But, her brothers were more than happy to be able to dote on and take care of their youngest (and strongest) sister who endured so much to save them. The sorcerer, who had watched this happen, too late to prevent it, was terrified that her brothers were back and the inevitable revenge they would seek, so he fled the scene.

The brothers put Cerise first in their priorities (revenge could wait) and travelled back home with their sister to restore their kingdom.

But even though her happy ending was complete, Cerise found herself waiting in anticipation for something she could not distinguish. She spent her days in the protective presence of at least one of her brothers, she even ended up reverting back to how they slept as children, all squished together in the eldest’s bed, warm and enjoying the company after five years.

One bright morning, months after she saved them, the youngest brother asked to see her sewing basket that she sewed all their saving graces with. After hearing her so very amazing story, being so proud of her, the brothers were all excited to see but as she returned and sat down in front of them, she opened her basket, reached in and felt something foreign inside of it. She had enough time to pull out a strange mask with an even stranger symbol on it before a blinding white light enveloped her and whisked her away.

The last thing she saw were the faces of her brothers, arms outstretched and her own reached out as well but as the light faded away, she was reaching out to nothing. A foreign land in a large tower hovering above the clouds stretched out before her and she crumpled to the ground without anything to support her. The pain in her legs were enough indication to tell her that this was real and as she looked around herself, noting how alone she was, she cried.

Her body was frozen at the age of 20 when she became the Keeper of Endings.

[Keeper]
Throughout the early years as Cerise slowly slipped into her Keeper position, she could still feel the disconnection with her brothers. Even though her emotions were muted, she could still feel the loss and the empty ache in her heart but she soon immersed herself in her work. She loved being able to help stories become complete and easily created bonds with them. Even though she knew that she would outlive them all, she couldn’t help herself and would mourn each one whenever they died. That was how she began the garden tucked away in the Citadel, she grew a unique flower for each of her friends or loved ones that died and made them flourish in memory of them.

It was near six years of being a Keeper when the new Keeper of Stories was chosen and Cerise would be reunited with her youngest and favorite brother in her vigil.

[Familiar]
Atere is a large, black wolf that is extremely protective of Cerise’ well being. He is quite violent towards any strangers and has no qualms severely injuring anyone who harms Cerise in the slightest of ways. He also has an attitude and won’t give the time of the day to anyone he deems not worth his time. However, in Cerise’s presence he becomes almost sweet, like a pet dog. He dotes on her in whichever way he can, and enjoys giving her rides when she doesn’t have enough energy to float around. His back reaches about mid-waist on Cerise so he’s like a miniature pony.

Cerise first found Atere on a rare...float into the forest after she was chosen to be the Keeper of Endings. He was an injured, abandoned wolf pup. Drawn to him first by his colouring because it reminded her so much of her brothers’ swan coats, she gathered him up and raised him in the Citadel. He became her familiar some years later close to the arrival of Ikanus as the Keeper of Stories.

[Additional Facts]

:bulletred: She doesn’t speak much. And if she does it’s in bare whispers. The only one who may be able to hear her speak freely is Ikanus
:bulletred: She can name almost any flower in Marchen
:bulletred: She calls her brother a childhood nickname of Kana just as he calls her Cece. She refuses to respond to this name if anyone but Ikanus uses it.
:bulletred: Usually carries around a large wicket basket full of items that change daily. You may find yourself facing to be an unfinished story forever if you try taking this basket or you search through it without permission. She is dreadfully protective of this basket.
:bulletred: Her dress, as well as being layered has many hidden little pockets. She is somehow able to remember every single pocket and whatever may be inside of them
